This Art was inspired by a Yawanawa legend. An Amazonian tribe, told during a ceremony by the Pajé PekãRasu Yawanawa, which was heard by the artist, about the first man who died. Men were immortal, but one day a Man died. The tribe cried and didn't know what to do with him. The man saw his wife crying because he couldn't talk to her. He saw the tribe walking with his body without knowing what to do.
They tried to play in the waters, but the Waters said it wasn't their place. They tried to put it on the mountain, but Monte said it wasn't his place. They tried to set it on fire, but the Fire said that it was not his destiny to be turned into ashes, so they put him under the ground. The tribe gathered over the place where he was buried and cried. His tears moistened the earth and from there a tree was born, the Chacrona and intertwined with it, the Jagube, a vine. Ayahuasca was born from Man's vital energy.
This is the legend of forest medicine that comes from the cooking of Chacrona and Jagube that allow man to travel between worlds. In this image we can see the man under the roots of the tree giving it strength to be born and grow.
